Recently Microsoft has launched an ad campaign targeted at Apple Computer’s “Mac vs PC” commercials. I dislike commercials, and despise those which aren’t accurate. Sure I have had Microsoft Windows crash on me, but this pales in comparison to using the original iMac’s with OS9 in middle school. With OS9 I would be lucky to get through half the class without it freezing and they were by far the worst computers I ever used.
For some reason, people actually like these Microsoft and Apple commercials. The commercials themselves are contradictory as they compare a “Mac” to a “PC.” Well I hate to break this for you commercial lovers, but a Mac is a PC. PC stands for “Personal Computer,” and Apple revolutionized this industry during the 1980′s. A Mac is a subset of a PC, and Apple even lists this on their website: “Why your next PC should be a Mac.”
Yes, the commercials are stupid as Apple doesn’t even remember that their own company helped pioneer the PC. Maybe someone at Apple should look up the definition of a “PC,” so they can cancel the “iPod vs MP3 player” commercials before they air.
